Jake's Cabin Dulcimers

These instruments are the result of Rick Thum’s years of experience and performance requirements. He demands a dulcimer of dynamic clarity and power, without the problem of excessive sustain. The experienced player will discover a fast attack, broad dynamic range, and balanced voicing. The new player will notice a clear, beautiful tone and easy playability in a handsome, cleanly designed instrument of surprisingly light weight.

In March of 2009 Jim Newman purchased the rights to build the Meadowlark, Wren and Traveler hammered dulcimers from Rick Thum Dulcimers. He named his company Jake's Cabin Dulcimers.  These are the same instruments that Rick was building.  Jim worked under Rick's guidance for 8 months to learn to build them the same way.  His dedication to quality and his attention to detail are second to none.  I am sure you will find these instruments to be everything you expected from Rick.
